In a world where social media is omnipresent and increasingly shapes the lives of young people, the challenge facing the next generation is not access to information — it is discernment. Platforms designed for connection often become spaces of distraction, drawing teenagers away from what matters most: building character, developing skills, and investing in their own future.

In Agona Nsaba, Ghana, A Different Life Ghana asked a simple but powerful question: How do we keep young girls on track in an era that too often glorifies the wrong things?

Empower Her was the answer.

Why Empower Her?

Within the A Different Life Youth Hub in Agona Nsaba, a ladies’ club called Empower Her was born — a space dedicated to inspiring and empowering the next generation of young women through mentorship, life-skills training, educational support, skill development, community engagement, and networking opportunities. Most importantly, it is a safe space where girls can freely express themselves, be heard, and thrive — socially, emotionally, and intellectually.

The club focuses on teenage girls between the ages of 11 and 19 — a critical window in a young person’s development. What they consume, who they listen to, and what they are exposed to at this stage shapes the mindset they carry into adulthood. It shapes the future they decide to build.

At Empower Her, we dare to challenge every girl: your growth is your responsibility, and your future is in your hands. We help young women recognise that they can become the best versions of themselves — and in doing so, uplift the communities around them.

Objectives for 2026

From January to November 2026, Empower Her plans to engage 30 girls between the ages of 11 and 19 through regular meetings, structured mentorship sessions, and hands-on life-skills training.

What to Expect

Empower Her brings together a rich mix of meaningful and enjoyable activities designed to educate, inspire, and connect:

• Monthly meetings — self-discovery, confidence-building, positive choices, envisioning a better future, and health awareness including breast cancer education
• Guest speaker sessions — inspiring women from diverse professional backgrounds sharing their journeys
• Community service projects — clean-up exercises, awareness campaigns, and civic initiatives
• Social events — movie nights, book clubs, and sports to build friendships and promote well-being
• Leadership programmes — mentorship, structured training, and hands-on leadership experiences

The programme is open to all girls aged 11–19 in Agona Nsaba. Monthly meetings are held at the Youth Hub, and one major conference is organised annually.

Empower Her is more than a club. It is a movement — a deliberate, community-rooted investment in the young women who will one day lead families, businesses, and communities across Ghana and beyond.
